• Is there any solution to the aftertaste of cod liver oil or fish oil?

    The aftertaste of fish is a common problem. If you are struggling with reflux and the aftertaste of fish, we recommend that you try our product Möller’s Omega-3 capsules without aftertaste of fish. The capsules can withstand gastric acid and do not dissolve until they pass into the large intestine. This guarantees that you will not be bothered by reflux and aftertaste of fish. The product has extra high content of omega-3 fatty acids EPA and DHA and ensures that you receive 1 gram of omega-3 per 2 capsules.

  • Is it enough to only take cod liver oil during months starting with "r"?

    No. This is an old rule of remembering that it is in the winter months the need for vitamin D is greatest. But cod liver oil also contains other nutrients, which is important to get throughout the year. In fact, during summer, cod liver oil can be great for the skin and keep the summer cold at a distance.

  • How do you get rid of fish oil stains on textiles?

    Try a little dishwashing detergent right on the stain, let it work for approx. 30 minutes. Rinse the laundry well and wash as usual. Please hang the clothes out for drying.

  • How long can a bottle of Möller’s Cod Liver Oil be opened before it's getting old?

    Möller’s Cod Liver Oil is a pure natural product without any form of preservatives. An opened bottle can be stored for a maximum of three months in a refrigerator before replacing it with a new one.

  • What is the difference between regular Möller's Cod Liver Oil and Möller's Omega-3 liquid?

    The difference is that Möller’s Omega-3 liquid contains about 40% more omega-3 per day dose than usual Möller’s Cod Liver Oil. This is because we have enriched the product with extra omega-3, so the product also costs more than usual Möller’s Cod Liver Oil.

  • How much is 5 ml of cod liver oil?

    As a rule, this is what can fit on a baby spoon, but in some cases, a tablespoon will do just fine!

  • How to distinguish between "good" and "bad" Omega-3 products?

    There is a big difference in quality between many of the omega-3 products on the market, something many people do not think about. To help you distinguish the good products from the bad ones, we have developed a new standard for certification of fish oil capsules (DNV). Read more under «Omega-3».

  • Does Möller's products have a documented effect?

    Yes. The fatty acids DHA and EPA, which are the main ingredients in Möller’s products, are among the best-proven nutrients in the world today.

  • What requirements do you have in relation to rancidity?

    We have a self-imposed requirement for the oxidation level of fish oil used in our products, which is significantly stricter than today’s standard. In addition, we have a self-imposed requirement for the tanning level of oxidation, which is significantly stricter than Norwegian requirements and EU requirements.

  • Can fish/shellfish allergists use Möller's products?

    The fish oil capsules consist of pure oil from fish muscle and the cod consists of pure fat from cod liver oil. Fish allergy is due to reacting to a protein (allergen) in the fish muscle. Today’s analytical methods have not been able to detect residues of protein in the fish oil/cod liver oil and we consider it unlikely that the product will trigger an allergic reaction. If you are hyper allergic toward fish, talk to, and possibly try the product with your doctor.

  • Is there any soya or gluten in Möller's products?

    None of our products contain gluten. There are soyalecetin in 2 of our products: Möller’s Omega-3 Heart and Möller’s Omega-3 Joint. All other Möller’s products are free of soya.

  • Can you be sure that Möller's products are clean and free from pollution and heavy metals?

    Yes, we can guarantee that all our products are clean and of the best quality. Our products are completely safe for children and adults alike. We take all precautions to prevent unwanted substances that can be found in fish, resulting in our products. All oil we use is thoroughly cleaned in several steps and controlled up to 8 times throughout the process. In fact, Möller’s own rules for the purity of the product are much stricter than the requirements of the authorities. By using raw materials from clean sea areas, such as cod from Lofoten, we also avoid the presence of unwanted substances at all.

  • Which gelatin is used in Möller's capsules?

    Some of our capsules are made from cattle gelatin and some from gelatin from pigs. Contact our consumer service for more information.

  • Can young children take capsules?

    It is difficult to decide at what age a child must be in order to take capsules. It varies from child to child and depends on the size of the capsule. In general, we do not recommend capsules for children under 3 years because of the danger of being unable to swallow the capsule properly.

  • Can pregnant and breastfeeding use Möller's products?

    For this particular group, it is especially important with the addition of omega-3 fatty acids and vitamin D found in the cod liver oil and the other Möller’s products. The health authorities recommend cod liver oil to pregnant women to ensure adequate supply of vitamin D and Omega-3. Vitamin D is required for the absorption of calcium that ensures optimal development of the skeleton of the fetus. Möller’s Cod Liver Oil is also rich in the omega-3 fatty acid DHA that is important for developing brain and vision functions.

  • Should you take Möller's products with food?

    There is no rule for having to eat Möller’s along with food, as it will vary from person to person, which seems best. Many people think it is best to take the products together with lunch or dinner rather than on an empty stomach.

  • Can you combine Möller's products?

    Yes, several of our products can be combined. What you need to take care of is not combining two products that both contain the recommended amount of vitamins D and A. If you are wondering which products can be combined, there is an overview of each of the products on our product pages.

  • What is the difference between liquid and omega-3 capsules? Which product is best?

    The main difference between liquid and omega-3 capsules is that while cod liver oil is made from cod, the oil used in most omega-3 capsules is made by squeezing oil from whole fish, such as anchovy and sardine. Another difference is that naturally there are natural vitamins A and D in cod liver oil, while it must be added to oil from small fish. The active substances, omega-3 fatty acids DHA and EPA, are found in both types and that is the most important. What’s best depends more on the quality of the cod liver oil/capsules.

  • Is it dangerous to take more than the recommended daily dose?

    You should always follow the recommended daily dosage on the product unless otherwise agreed with your doctor. It is especially the fat-soluble vitamins A, D and E. Take care not to get too much of it. If you get more than the recommended dose in rare occasions, it will usually be completely harmless. Any adverse effects of overdose will only occur after repeated long-term overdose.
